CISF personnel detected 03 gold bars weighing about 300 gms worth approximately INR 9.76 lakh from a passengers’ hand baggage at Mumbai Airport

New Delhi, 19.10.2018: On 18.10.2018 at about 0920 hrs, during pre-embarkation security check (through X-BIS machine) at Security Hold Area of Terminal-2, Mumbai Airport, Asstt. Sub-Inspector Prashant Kumar of CISF noticed image of high density metallic mass inside the hand baggage of a passenger later identified as Mr Devulapalli Hanuman P., Passport No.Z-4974559 Indian, arrived from Riyadh and was supposed to fly by flight No.9W-391 to Hyderabad. Immediately, he stopped the conveyer belt and the bag was selected for manually checking. On physical checking of the bag, 03 gold bars (weighing 100 grams each, total-300 gms) worth approximately INR 9,76,282/- were recovered. On enquiry, the said passenger could not produce any valid document. The matter was informed to Custom AIU officials.

Later, the said passenger along-with recovered gold bars weighing about 300 gms worth approximately INR 9.76 lakh was handed over to Custom AIU officials for further legal action.
