Aamir Khan reveals Dharmendra watched Sunny Deols Lahore 1947 before his demise

Aamir Khan reminisced the memories with the late actor Dharmendra, who recently passed away on November 24, 2025. During the recent 56th International Film Festival of India in Goa, Khan mentioned that the legendary actor watched Sunny Deol’s film ‘Lahore 1947’ before he passed away.

Aamir Khan opens up about how Dharmendra saw Lahore 1947 Calling it one of Dharamji’s favourite scripts, Khan mentioned that while it’s not released yet but he got to show it to the ‘Sholay’ actor. “Today, in fact, I’m not there in Bombay, but today is his prayer meeting, unfortunately. I’m missing it. And I was very close to him because in the last, I would say last one year, I must have met him about 7-8 times,” he said at the festival, according to News18. The 60-year-old actor added he used to enjoy Dharamji’s company and sit with him.

Remembering an incident when Khan took his son, Azad, with him to meet Dharamendra. While the boy has not seen the work of the deceased actor, he accompanied him for a couple of hours. “You know, Dharamji was not only such a fine actor, but he was a great human being,” Khan added.

About Dharmendra After spending a couple of days in the hospital for respiratory issues, Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. While the family had issued a notice that he had been recovering and discharged from the hospital, his health suddenly deteriorated. Recently, Hema Malini posted a heartfelt note on social media. She concluded the note in the caption, “My personal loss is indescribable and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments…”

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the cast members include Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, and many more.
