These lines kept motivated and proven true by Raman Kumar, son of Sh. Vinay Singh who has cracked the prestigious exam of Bihar Public Service Commission this year(56th to 59th) with rank 375. Raman hails from village Buzurg in Samastipur district. Raman says that despite the hard circumstances and rural background, his father always kept education on priority. Raman has faced struggle since childhood. After his basic schooling from a village school, he studied inter and graduation from RNR college, samastipur. Talking over phone Raman was emotional remembering good old days when he used to ride via bicycle to his college which was at a long distance from his village. After his graduation being motivated by his father and elder brothers(Dr. Bijli Kishore, Amrit Kumar, Nayan Kumar, Suman Kumar), Raman was determined to go for civil services. Against all odds he came to delhi and started preparing for UPSC. He wrote several mains exam papers of UPSC but could make to the final list due to some minor differences. It was not so easy to stand and struggle again and again but he did not lose it. He says, “At such stage the support of your family, friends and teachers really matters which keep you going. My mother Smt. Mithilesh Devi was always optimistic about my selection which augmented my hardwork despite some bad phases. The guidance of Sh. R. Kumar Sir, Director of Aastha IAS, Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi helped me in getting my final selection. I pay my thanks to team Aastha IAS for guiding me in answer writing and interview. ”
Persevered in his efforts he also availed scholarship in NET JRF with history and cracked BSSC exam 2014.
On Congratulating him over his success, Raman says, “The journey has begun. There is a lot to pay back to society and state at large.”
