With Kapil Dev as the first recipient, Dentalkart launches ApexKonnect with patented Technology, unveiled at a two-day scientific symposium with live demonstrations.

New Delhi, 15th September 2025: Dentalkart, a listed online marketplace for dental supplies in India has announced the launch of its flagship and patented ApexKonnect Dental Implant System at a grand inauguration ceremony in New Delhi. The event was attended by dignitaries from the dental fraternity, marking a historic moment with legendary cricketer and chief guest Kapil Dev, also becoming the first patient to receive the ApexKonnect implant.

The two-day event served as a platform for creating awareness about the ApexKonnect’s revolutionary design with a scientific symposium and training sessions designed for training clinicians, highlighting its clinical advantages. Dentalkart also showcased live demonstrations to highlight how ApexKonnect’s protocols reduce the need for multiple drills, enable immediate placements and significantly minimize post-operative discomfort, thereby transforming both the clinician’s experience and patient outcomes.

The design of ApexKonnect was co-developed with Mr. Vikram Pratap of Kamal Medtech, whose contributions across design-for-manufacture, rapid prototyping, bench validation, and quality systems were pivotal.

Recognised as a digital-first innovation, ApexKonnect is a fully integrated prosthetic platform which is compatible with all major CAD software and provides seamless access to platform-switched prosthetics, scan bodies, and digital analogues. This makes it one of the most comprehensive implant systems available to clinicians across the globe.

Additionally, ApexKonnect is known for its advanced surface treatment which uses cutting-edge bioactive nanotechnology. It has developed the system in collaboration with Uppsala University, Sweden and evaluated at Gothenburg University, Sweden, making this breakthrough enhance the biocompatibility and healing of the implant, setting a new benchmark for implant technology.

It boasts a progressive high-angle (HA) thread profile, engineered with varying thread geometries along its body. These tailored thread designs work in harmony to precisely cut through bone while simultaneously compressing surrounding bone tissue. This controlled cutting and compaction mechanism enhances bone-to-implant contact, resulting in optimized primary stability-particularly beneficial in low-density bone and immediate placement protocols.

Furthermore, the square profile at the crestal level helps evenly distribute occlusal forces across a broader surface area. This reduces stress concentration at the cortical bone, minimizing the risk of crestal bone loss. On the other hand, the concave apex, combined with active cutting elements and strategically placed flutes, facilitates the accumulation of host bone chips and fragments during insertion. This design effectively preserves autogenous bone and significantly enhances osseointegration by increasing one-to-implant contact (BIC).

The implants thread design is engineered to balance compressive and cutting forces, minimizing excessive stress concentration on ⁠the host bone during insertion. This ensures a controlled and atraumatic placement, preserving bone integrity and supporting long-term implant success.

Using cutting edge bioactive nano technology was developed jointly with Uppsala university Sweden and evaluated at Gothenburg University Sweden.
