Cultural kaarvan leaves echoes of melody and muse

Lucknow: Performances by noted artists won hearts on the concluding second day of Cultural Kaarvan organised by Jashn e Adab and union ministries of culture and tourism at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Saturday.

The programme began with a soulful performance by singer Rajeev Singh and his troupe. Founder of Jashn e Adab, Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan, shared his vision on the occasion, saying, The event holds immense significance for the literary world serving as a beacon of inspiration for every Indian, our primary goal is to derive societal change through transformative power of literature. Padma Shri Prof Ashok Chakradhar, Farhat Ehsas, Alok Aviral, Ranjan Nigam, Azm Shakiri, Imran Raahi and Nitin Kabir recited poetry in the segment ‘Sheri Nashist

Folk singer Malini Awasthi spread the magic with her voice and sang ghazals ‘Main toot kar usey chahoon and ‘Dil jalane ki baat karte ho. In the ‘Sur Sadhna segment, Padma Bhushan Pandit Sajan Mishra, along with his son Swaransh Mishra, sang ‘Saajan more ghar aaye and ‘Balam na aaye.

In the end, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia played on his flute ‘Om jai Jagdish and ‘Bhayya mere rakhi ke bandhan ko nibhana. He was honoured with the lifetime achievement award by Jashn e Adab.
