Cricket fans from all around the world were eagerly waiting for Sunday (October 19) to watch Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in action for India after more than seven months, but in their first international match after 224 days, both the former Indian captains failed to do much with the bat. While Rohit scored 8 runs from 14 balls during his stay at the crease, Kohli was unable to open his account even after playing eight balls.
Rohit was the first batter to get out on Sunday. On the fourth ball of the fourth over, Matt Renshaw completed his catch off Josh Hazlewood’s bowling, and on the first ball of the seventh over, left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc accounted for the dismissal of Virat.
The legendary batter was caught by Cooper Connolly, who produced a super fielding effort.
The flop show by Rohit and Kohli invited them sharp criticism from fans and they even trolled them with several hilarious memes.
